SuperQuilt External Wall | YBS SuperQuilt
SuperQuilt External Wall | YBS SuperQuilt is also LABC & BDA certified for insulating the external side of solid walls. Insulating with SuperQuilt on the outer section of solid brick walls is a cost effective solution and keeps the build-up to a nominal thickness.
Timber battens are to be installed horizontally directly onto the wall with approximate spacing’s of 500mm, aswell as around the perimeter & windows/doors.
SuperQuilt External Wall | YBS SuperQuilt is then to be stapled directly onto the installed battens, rolled our either vertically or horizontally. Ensure YBS SuperQuilt layers overlap by 50mm, follow by fully taping and sealing with our true aluminium Thermaseal Foil Joining Tape, SuperQuilt should also be fully taped and sealed around the perimeter. Once taped and sealed, SuperQuilt will work as a high performance vapour control layer, controlling and reducing the risk of interstitial condensation.
Vertical timber battens should then be installed perpendicular to the first set, at an approx spacing of 500mm, sandwiching SuperQuilt between the set of battens. Please ensure timber battens which are being are used are to be treated, this will effectively reduce any of the timber battens rotting due to exposure from the elements.
The carrier board is fixed over the product and onto the battens, the external rendered finishing should comply with BS EN 13914-119. If a render board is being used, please ensure ventilation is created in the cavity between YBS SuperQuilt and the render board.
